DONCASTER'S NEWEST RESIDENTIAL SCHEME IS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED
An official ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the new show homes at Muse Developments' eagerly anticipated The Residence, Lakeside - a collection of 51 luxury two, three and four bedroom homes - took place today (Wednesday 3rd June) ahead of its public launch on Saturday 6 June.
Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones and Councillor Sandra Holland, Cabinet Member for Housing and Environment were given the first tour of the new show homes, a two-bedroom, 'Cobham' home and a three-bedroom 'Lysander', and viewed the first completed properties at the scheme which is designed by Yorkshire-based architect Brewster Bye and built by Lovell.
The Residence, which sits at the edge of more than 50 acres of lake, already has proved popular with potential buyers with more than 300 enquiries received since work on site began in September 2014. The sales team expect demand to be high when the properties launch to the public this weekend.
Councillor Sandra Holland, Cabinet Member for Housing and Environment, said: "I'm delighted to mark the official launch of this fantastic residential scheme, which is providing much needed new homes to the growing number of young people and families who want to live in this sought after area of Doncaster. Lakeside has benefitted from significant investment in recent years including Doncaster Dome, the Keepmoat Stadium and Lakeside Village and with our world-class racecourse nearby it is fast becoming established as a great place to live and to spend leisure time."
Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, added: "With many high profile businesses located around Lakeside and the new National College for High Speed Rail set to open its doors in September 2017, Lakeside like the rest of Doncaster continues to grow and offer wonderful opportunities for local people."
Muse Developments and Doncaster Council have worked together to oversee significant changes to the town centre, with the transformation of the £300million Civic and Cultural Quarter (CCQ) and The Gables residential scheme which launched just over a year ago. So far the CCQ has delivered new state-of-the-art performance venue 'Cast', new civic offices, Sir Nigel Gresley Square and refurbished multi-storey car park.
